Rock & Roll, 1950's - 1971

Rock & Roll. Sex. Drugs. Parties & Freedom. This is what this time period reminds me off. Total chaos. Color T.V. was just coming out in the 1950 and by 1954 more than half of Americans had a T.V. in their home. Elvis Presley, who did not love him. He became a major sex symbol in the 50's. All the women loved him. The great invention of the woman icon was invented. The barbie Doll. The idea of the perfect woman was invented. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous speech " I have a dream." People started protesting the war and anything else they did not agree with.
People started to realize that they can get away with much more...The media started to test their limits and see how far they can go with out being censored.
The movie we watched "A Clockwork Orange" was very interesting. The movie was very out there and looked like one of those movies that is a dream. Some parts were very racy and a little over the edge. This movie reminds me of on of my favorite movies, "Requiem of a Dream." This movie is about Drugs and random sex. And pushes the limit.
The 70 was all about the Hippie era. FLower power. Peace, Love and Drugs.
